Women’s Self Defense class is non-firearm related training. This class will focus on self defense tactics, use of non-firearm self defense weapons, vocal commands, and anything that might help you to avoid, escape or combat against a violent encounter. 

You will learn simple, practical techniques employed to end an engagement and escape to safety. This class is designed for women wanting some self-defense principles and techniques without having to go through years of training. But, ongoing instruction will definitely make you a more effective and competent defender. 

Tuition is $50 for 4 classes (1 month) or $20 for a single drop-in class; First class is free.

  • We might be training with batons, palm sticks and training knives.  While they are not sharp they can still hurt you. Techniques learned are done in a slow controlled manner until skill is built up. We gradually add speed and pressure to our training as each student can show control.

  • There is no uniform per se, but The Warrior Within T-shirt is required after the first class.  There are no belts in the system I teach and therefore no testing fee, no belt fee and no contract required for ongoing lessons. 

  • Yes, if you are at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States or a current member of the United States Armed Forces, and you are not disqualified under Idaho law from obtaining a concealed weapons license for a reason other than not having attained 21 years of age. 

    However, as we will be simulating self-defense scenarios and using lethal and non-lethal methods of self defense please leave your firearm in your car or be willing to set your firearm aside during the actual training. 

  • Please give 48 hours notice for rescheduling if unable to attend. The other option is to transfer the class to another student. There is a minimum student policy for each class. If The Warrior Within (TWW) cancels class due to weather, minimum student policy or any other reason, the student will have the option of rescheduling or getting a full refund. Cancellation is via email: please ensure you register with the correct email. TWW is not responsible for travel or other related expenses.

After a safety briefing and review of the fundamentals this class will focus on taking your shooting to the next level. We will cover pistol holds, practice various reloads and malfunctions, with an emphasis on movement: which includes move and shoot, shoot and move, as well as shooting while moving. A $10 range fee may apply.

Empty Hands Self Defense class is non-firearm related training. This class will focus on empty hands training which draws from many different martial arts including, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Jeet Kune Do, Thai Boxing, Western Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Kickboxing, Hapkido, Panantukan, and Pananjukan to name a few. 

You will learn simple, practical, and effective techniques employed to end an engagement and escape to safety. This class is designed for anyone wanting some self-defense principles and techniques without having to go through years of training. But, ongoing instruction will definitely make you a more effective and competent defender. This includes those in the healthcare field that want more than the introductory techniques in the Dealing with Combative Patients course.

Tuition is $50 for 4 classes (1 month) or $20 for a single drop-in class; First class is free. Take 2 classes at $80 per month (classes run back to back).
