The typical course lasts around 60-90 minutes depending upon the facilities requirements. This is negotiable at the time of booking.
-
The class is limited to 20 people. This is due to the physical nature of the techniques and the ability of the instructor to watch over people practicing self-defense techniques that require skillful movements. Having space between practicing teams of people decreases the risk of injury.
-
Work clothing is appropriate whether that is office clothing or scrubs. You should be able to move in the clothing including reaching, bending and moving quickly. Tennis shoes are suggested over office shoes, and no high heels allowed.
-
While the self-defense techniques require movement and skill we won’t be doing enough repetitions that will typically cause you to break a sweat. That being said, some people do perspire with minimal activity.
-
There is a short slide presentation that covers most of the key topics of the course. The last portion, which are the physical techniques, require empty floor and wall space. This can take place in a dining room, courtyard, activity room, or large conference room.
-
The first 20 people to get instruction would cost $300 and each additional set of people up to 20 costs $200. So if there is a staff of 55 people the total would be $700.
“Gary Fujimo taught a self-defense class I attended, and it was absolutely amazing! He showed us how to handle violent situations in a healthcare setting safely, focusing on breaking away without causing harm.
His teaching was clear, practical, and so easy to apply to real-world scenarios. I walked away feeling confident and ready for anything!”
